Latest Project: Girls Crew

Girls Crew is a Los Angeles-based jewelry brand whose designs are imbued with a playful and flirty West Coast vibe. Needless to say, I was thrilled when Girls Crew asked me to work with them on a fresh new set of photos for their latest product launch. For their gc essentials collection they wanted a vibe that was more elevated.

‘I wanted to create a collection that caters to the girl that is bold, classic, simple, and elegant. My goal for Girls Crew is to be a one-stop-shop jewelry brand that people from all over the world and of all ages can shop from.’ - Jina Chang, Founder

All of their beautiful and dainty pieces are items I would totally wear myself, so of course collaborating together was super enjoyable! We collaborated on two different collections, so I'll let you know as soon as the second collection is announced.

Do Play With Your Food

All this time in quarantine had me thinking, “When was the last time I took photos just for the fun of it?” As a commercial photographer, I was spending most of my time in the studio creating content for my clients - sticking to their brand guidelines and project briefs. If there’s anything good that came out of this quarantine, it’s the fact that it forced me to prioritize myself, to lean into the discomfort of deep self-reflection, and to finally say, “Just have fun and see what happens.” So that’s exactly what I’m doing. Lately I’ve just been shooting. I’ve not been worrying too much about what it will look like, how much time it’ll take, having to throw it all away and start all over again. All I’ve been doing is doing - creating, enjoying, and yes, playing! It’s taken me well into my thirties, one pandemic, and a surplus of bananas (because I’m sick of baking banana bread, y’all!) to start playing with my food!

Latest Project: Care Skincare

Care Skincare needed a set of photos to promote their Holiday gift campaign. They were looking for images that conveyed a luxurious “editorial” feel to be featured on their online store, social media, and PR mailings. Care wanted a vibe that was bright and elegant.

The shots were kept clean and minimal to coincide with their straightforward, decluttered skincare line. As for the lighting in studio, we wanted the look of mid-afternoon sunlight to help convey that elegance that Care Skincare had requested.
