Getting Started

1. Start an order

Send us an email at hello@joannago.com with your photography requirements — referencing one of our package services from our Services page, photography usage, i.e. web, print, social media content, a photograph of the item(s) you'd like photographed, and creative direction is very helpful. We respond to emails within 1 working day. After discussing your project's needs we will send you a quote, provide you with an address to ship your items to and an order number.

2. Ship us your products

Ship your products to our NYC studio. Of course, pack each item securely so they don’t get damaged in transit. Enclose your order number inside the box so we can let you know when your products arrive.

3. We photograph your photos

We will contact you as soon as your products arrive in our studio. Once we have your products, we will go over the details of your order and discuss with you any questions or concerns you may have before we start. After we go though all the details together, we will start shooting your photos! 

4. Instant online delivery

Each project order comes with one test photo and free proofing of your photos before completion. Once your photos are ready and they meet our standards for delivery we’ll post them in a private online gallery where you can view and download them immediately. If you’d like to make any changes or additions after viewing the first proofs, just let us know and we’ll make them before moving forward. You are granted one free reshoot per project. Please note, an additional charge may apply for additional reshoots.

After your project is complete, you can request to have your products shipped back to you. Shipping fees will be invoiced to you or charged to your UPS or FedEx account. Products will be carefully packed up and shipped as soon as your payment is processed.

Format, Licenses, Re-shoots

In what format are my photos delivered?

We will work with you at the start of the project for your image size specifications, optimization for use on the web, etc. Standard product photos are delivered as a high resolution, 300 DPI jpeg using maximum quality settings.

What kind of license comes with the images? 

Upon final delivery, the photographs become licensed to you for use on a royalty-free basis. This means you are free to use the photographs in any of your publications as many times as you like, with as wide a distribution as you like, without ever having to pay us royalties for their use. We allow the use of these photos in all forms of publication including print advertising, packaging, web, television, etc. We do retain the copyrights for delivered photos and the photographs may not be re-sold to any third party without prior written permission.

What if I would like an image to be re-shot? 

You are given one free re-shoot after the initial proofs of your photos are delivered. Afterwards, if we’ve made a mistake we will gladly re-shoot or edit the photos to make them right, no charge. Re-shoots for artistic or editorial reasons, or resulting from client error or omission will be quoted at the time of the change request.

How do I pay?

After we receive your product(s) and a signed copy of our agreement which includes the terms provided on this page, you will be invoiced a retainer fee at the start of the project. The remaining amount, including any shipping fees for returning items to you, will be invoiced in installments before final delivery of your downloadable, royalty-free photographs. Full terms and conditions will be emailed to you before the start of a project.
